APPLEFORD 75-A GLORIOUS CELEBRATION • The Appleford 75 was the highly anticipated celebration of the birth of the traction engine rally as we know it and was very much an enthusiast’s rally. With a stunning line-up of engines from previous 1950-71 Appleford events, the weekend turned out to be a great success although perhaps not commercially. It was a great reunion, never to be forgotten.

HIGH WEALD A BIG SUCCESS • Third time lucky they say, well at last the High Weald Steam Working had the right site to take it forward when it moved to Freshfield Mill Farm, Sloop Lane, Scaynes Hill near Haywards Heath where they had a very successful weekend over 14-15 June.

POPULAR AS EVER • The annual three-day Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza took place over the early May Bank Holiday weekend, attracting huge crowds to this celebrated event. David Reed went along to join in the fun.

ALL RECORDS BROKEN • At the superb Tractorfest, Newby Hall, Ripon, North Yorkshire on 7-8 June all records were broken not only for public attendance, but with some 1,300 tractors and a superb line of stationary engines, cars, motor-cycles, commercials and PSVs.
