INTENSE & PURPOSE • It was a classics season like no other. The radically reorganised calendar of 2020 saw a relentless schedule of big one-day races, starting with the Worlds immediately after the Tour, then the Ardennes races and finally the cobbles. Procycling looks back at a crazy month, in which the same names kept figuring, and had their big showdown at the final race, the Tour of Flanders

FADING GLORY • The Giro Rosa has long been the most prestigious stage race on the women's calendar. But with crashes, poor roads, tales of organisational difficulties and a lack of live TV, Procycling witnessed a fascinating if restrained edition, that threatened the race's future status as number one
STAGE BY STAGE • Like everything this year, the Giro Rosa had to revise its plans in 2020. Typically held in July, the race took a new slot in September over nine days, not the usual 10, and was located in central and southern Italy. For the first time since 2014, the race didn't feature an individual time trial, but it did open with a team time trial and included four summit finishes in its route.
