HARD-WORKING KM • When Bedford moved up into the heavyweight class in 1966 the new KM proved to be a real winner in the 16 ton gross tipper class. The ERV6, or KMR is you prefer, could legally take a full 10 ton payload and it performed well on site. This tipper belonged to Bernard Kemp of Redruth in Cornwall and is seen here being loaded at an English China Clays quarry near St Austell. Half a century on, the KM is looked upon as a true classic of its era.
